This lovely little pool was lurking on one of the stalls. What caught my eye was the lovely planting combination, using differents hues and textures to fill the spot with interest, and give the whole display a look of having been there for years. Certainly the best small pool on view at the show.. |
| There's something intriguing about carniverous plants, and this display of Pitcher Plants by Hampshire Carniverous Plants Ltd. enraptured many visitors with their strange charm. If I ever have enough money for a conservatory, I'd be quite tempted to grow these strange, almost aliens plants inside it, and feed the children to them. ;~) |

And what about this strange little specimen I came across on the same stand. Cephalotus follicularis, the Australian Pitcher Plant, is only 100mm across and stands no more than 50mm high. |
| My eagle eyes landed upon this gem hidden amongst the other stunning plants on Maureen Iddon's stand. It's a new Eryngium, E.alpinum 'Super Nova', and the sad news is that we all have to wait until next year to have the pleasure of seeing this beauty in our own gardens. |

Stonecrop Nurseries of Doncaster won a silver gilt award for this delightful mosaic made from rounded beach pebbles and those familiar Southport souvenirs, cockle shells. The star design fades away at the edges and mingles with the low-growing herbs that this nursery specilaises in. |
