I have 2 varieties of thyme growing in the garden. I grow wild thyme in the herb-pot for culinary use, and I also grow a variegated thyme, Thymus serpylla 'Higland Cream' as ground cover at the apex of the heather bed.
Like all thymes, it appreciates sharp drainage and full sun. It is very low growing, little more than 30mm high, and spreads itself over the paving. In July it is covered in small, very pale blue flowers.
